I just got back from 3 days in Colorado! During the last day of my stay, I got a chance to venture out to Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding areas. At first we hiked to Dream Lake. The hike was brutal! Only 1.1 miles but the thin air and ice-covered trail definitely took its toll. My mother who was hiking with me, actually slipped and fell on the slick ice on our way back down and broke her hand in the process. We saw wildlife, wildflowers, and some really breathtaking views so all-in-all it was a good trip, minus the broken hand. Here are a few from the trip and others will be added to my online gallery within the next week. Enjoy the shots!
The colors of the early morning sun shine though the clouds and over Hallett Peak. (Featured in my online gallery.)

As the sun rose further above the horizon, the natural colors of the landscape began to come out. (Featured in my online gallery.)

A closer look at Hallett Peak.

As we were leaving the Dream Lake trailhead, we stopped for a moment to capture some images of Glacier Creek which runs alongside Bear Lake Rd. (Each of these are featured in my online gallery.)

An elk in Rocky Mountain National Park. There were several in the herd and I captured this one as it broke from the pack.

Finally I leave you with some wildflowers that we found just outside of Boulder the day before. (Both are featured in my online gallery.)
